Took some pics today.
Here's our handsome roo, Brick. (He lost a few tail feathers recently.)
and our silly, big roo, Moose.
Shake those wattles!
Here's Muppet. (Hatched May 13th & still hasn't started laying eggs.) She's a very big girl. Much bigger than Brick - the cuckoo orp roo.
Here's a rare pic of Moose & Brick next to each other. What a size diff!
Here's Godiva - our choc orp. She hatched in late April & started laying at 5 months old. Then she saw all the hens molting & decided to join them. We only got about a month of eggs from her this year. She's petite like Brick.
Here's Darth Layer. It's hard to get a pic of any other chicken while the photo-bombing Darthy's around.
Here's Oppsie-Daisy. She was supposed to be a mauve orp & looked like one as a chick, but her feathers grew in white. In the light, we can see some yellow undertones.
Although not show or breeder quality, we find her dark eyes & gray legs uniquely beautiful. She's also got a "spoil me" attitude & is always one of the 1st to greet us.
Bonus: She may have laid her 1st egg today.
