Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I don't have any pics right now but wait 21 days and I will. I get to join you Orp lovers! I had a few but not enough to consider myself part of the group.

But I just put 3 dozen eggs in the bator at Midnight. I am walking on clouds right now. Julie (BamaChicken) was so generous and her eggs arrived perfect, not one in all those any any issue at all. She knows what she is doing!!!

So I have Blue Orps and Black Orps in there. From Charlie, Tubby (I think) and Big John. I have seen Big John and he is OhhLaLa!

Julie if you are out there, do you have pics of the others by any chance. I want to have a picture in my head to dream about when I lay my head down.

I never realized what a quality Orp looked like but you all have such wonderful examples! Now I need to start learning more!

Mighty fine young boys. Very broad. I need to get some updates. Just been to cold to enjoy doing photos. The wind is blowing freezing cold here today about 15 mph.. About to play Rooster turnover and put the guys on the opposite pullets and see if it makes a difference in offspring. It is fun to feel creative when you don't have to do anything but switch pens. God is Good

Thanks Bill, I am looking forward to seeing the photos of the little Black cockerels out of that other black cockerel that runs the yard. He is very typey, just not huge. He has all the right genes though and he was breeding some large girls with those eggs you hatched back in the fall. I have a few 7 week olds out of that cross and they are looking really good. Just wait and see I guess.

Thank you Julie! They are stunning.

I am still not quite believing that I am going to have some of these wonderful birds.

The anticipation is high and I wish it was 3/24 and they were hatching!

He is a Stately fellow. Very nice U from neck to tail He made some pretty offspring last year and hoping all these this year will be even better. I have about 28 of them growing out right now.

I am equally as excited about he Blacks too. I have really grown to love the blacks. My DH enjoyed picking out the best blacks last year. Will be interesting to see the cross this year. I have already promised a friend Tubby or BJ if I get a cockerel I like better

BamaChicken,
Your birds are just the greatest. It is evident they are prepotent. The chicks I hatched from your eggs look exactly like your stock to the T. Good luck and thanks for sharing your quality birds.

Well Schafer that makes me so happy that they are turning out so well. I don't think we can have enough pretty large Orps. I think the blacks last year were out of Willie. Imogene is using him over her large hens from last year. We have a few in the bator to see what he did bred back to some of his offspring. not all she has are from his particular line. He was from a fellow in Fl that has been good to me.
