Oh i like her lol, she is a gorgeous bird, but i'm also a sucker for blue lol. Nothing wrong with english orps, but i breed a bit more for the Us standard, which in general has a lower tail by a bit and less fluff in the feather

No doubt a pretty bird though

I still find that the best Orpington ever made was Lady Betty. She was undefeated back in the days when you shown, there would be 800 Orpingtons in a show and not just barely 20 or 3o English in a show. This is why I am such a fan of Doug's Buffs. His birds heads are not even half the size of Lady Betty's, and still are gigantic. Just look at the bones!!

From Missouri, huh..... Would be great to find some of those genetics still around here.

Yes that fellow in MO shared the Clevenger line with Bob Coulter. Bob definitely did his part. Now you can find folks like Doug, Don C Prez of the UOC, Heather Vermazen, Terry Britt, Tony Ewert, and on and on that have some of Bob's (Clevenger's) line. Most of my Buffs have some of the genetics. You can really see them in Doug's Buffs. Those heads are big on his girls. It is the hatcheries that give our APA Buffs the bad name that we have scrawny Orps. Not the true Exhibition breeders. You were at a show. You had the chance to see Doug's Buffs. And those were prolly not his best either. You should go to the Crossroads show and see the real deal. I have been to his farm. Their big Buffs there. I am happy to know him and be able to see his birds. You are very lucky to get some of his NH's. take care of them.

Bill, cute girls. Are they bantams, do I see a ABA tag on the leg?? Java??

No their Australorps. A friend of mine hatched 15 and 2 were these girls. He sold them as secret layers. He said these were some of his bigger girls. But had no use for them.
I think I am going to take them to my Buff Sport cockerel and see IF I can coax out something White. When you buy birds at thee fairs who knows what is in them.

Here are a few better pics

I don't think technically their Mottleds. I read on the ShowBird site on the Mottled Cochin thread the SOP says a true Mottled has "V" or "HEART" shaped White tipped feathers. Both of these girls have some feathers that are almost all White. But, many online have called this look Mottled. Some here on BYC are even selling this look as a Mottled. I know better.
