Hey, two of my Buffs are laying

I'm really glad. They're all so big and pretty!

My buff roo, I got him when he was 5m old and he doesn't have a tail, I think maybe the feathers were pulled out by the other roos he was housed with? If they were will they grow back? Is it possible he doesn't have tail feathers?

He is a nice dark buff. It does appear the tail was plucked. It will regrow in time. Typically if there are still quills left (broken off), it won't happen until he molts. If the feather was completely removed, then it should grow back sooner.

I was hoping they would come back in cause he looks really silly right now. He is pretty big, but I think he may look really big to me cause he is running around with my OE Bantams, so he looks like a giant!

He is much darker than my hens. Is the dark color ok, most of the buffs I see are lighter in color?

Thought I'd bump this thread with some updated pics of a few of my younger birds.
Maybe my best Buff pullet growing out

Some of my girls have more of a Buff Orp tail. Which the better exhibition APA Buff breeders like their Orps with longer tails.

Aspen your very sweet! I like these Orps. And know there are many on this thread and site which are as nice or better. But it is fun to play around with. I like to take that Brown Birchen to this pullet who also has the Brown feather color to see what will pop out. MAYBE more Brown Birchens?

But I still am very focused on hatching many of the standards out.
Like this Buff boy
He is "THE STOMACH"
