Thank you! Sugar is from HinkJC by the way. I'm so proud of Sugar. But I can't take any credit for her breeding.

I hope to be showing against the Milkey's Blacks. Russ and his faily have the parents of one of my Blacks hens. They shown the mommy of my girls last year who took Reserve of Breed. I do not think I will have as nice an Orp as I shown last year. I will have some decent birds. But all mine are a month younger then the one I took Best of Breed and Best English last year. this year is all about being a donator and supporting the hobby by fillin a dozen or more cages with my babies. I do like everyone's Blacks. they look fantastic. It will be a good year for all of our Orps this coming season. I wish eveyone the best!
We are just 2 weeks away from the Central Indiana Poultry Show in Lebanon Indiana. And I haven't decided yet IF Thirsty will go.
I have to have the entry in by tomorrow. So for now to fill a cage I will prolly take him. It will be his 2nd show ever. Not expecting anything from him other then fillin up a cage. And by the looks of him he can definitely fill up a cage!
When molting even a 12 1/2 lbs boy can look small
This fella is not going to a show. He is one of several project birds.
My Brown (DUN) Birchen cockerel
Obviously no doubt he is BROWN
He has a decent tail. Nice start for this look. And I have a Brown pullet with similar Brown feathers to take him too.
From my FAKE New Hampshire duo of last year. I have plans on using this boy for a another Orp project variety which has become desired overseas. Didn't even have to spend hundreds of dollars to make em either!!
His sister, I have 3 pullets from that duo. 2 have definite New Hamp feathers.
Hodge podge of my Blacks. Some will go to the show despite being very young. I am just donating!
One of my Birchen pullets is in the backround. Since my Bruno Sanmartino, a Birchen Marans, is down to just one hen I may take this girl to him early next season.
The Black boy will go to the show
A rear view of the same cockerel and my Brown Red cockerel who is also going to be shown in AOV. You can also see outside the pen and behind "SCANNER". A son of my purebred GSD biitch who is daughter from 2006 Northeast Regional Schutzhund Champ "GUNNAR" own by Bruce McNabb. Scanner LOVES Chickens!!!!
I have had so few pullets to cockerels this year I wish I had more to choose from. Prolly going to the show
An Akers influence is obvious in my BUSTOFF line of Blacks. This is the line that seems to throw all these oddball combos like the Brown Reds and the Brown Birchens and on and on.
Being an APA kind of guy I am very happy with the Akers Buff style of body. He is going on 6 months old
A REAL AKERS BUFF COCk to compare the body of my Blacks too. I will not risk showing him. I have one young Akers Buff cockerel growing out. But this fella has the best Buff color which I hope to be able to work into my Buff Orp line.
After having 4 or 5 days of rain the mud seems to be everywhere in my pens. We will start washing birds early this week for the show. Nothing like having 3 inches of rain in one day to mud up the place.
Maybe one of the better BUSTOFF line of pullets for the year. I wish I had another 4 or 5 of her.
To finish up the afternoon of pics is the one Blue who may go to the show. Yesterday he and 3 other Black girls busted out of their pen. And spent the nite on their own. I am lucky nothing happened upon them.
I have to adjust my thinking of what my Brown bird maybe. I was thinking Birchen. Until I wrote a friend and very knowledgeable fancier who says looks like POSSIBLY Duckwing is in him. And after looking at his daddy "TuT", I am thinking Duckwing!
