Since I'm new to Orps, please clue me in. You said you did not see any UK Orps at the show. Do you mean imports or UK style/offspring? Isn't the the hen in photos 4 & 5 a UK type? She's so round and fluffy she looks like a buff Cochin! (which I love, by the way)

I hope to take some more today. I am happy to share on this thread the birds I seen who looked very impressive.

Elinor's chicks YES that is what I said. I did not see any of the UK Orps we see on the English Import thread. I NEVER said that Fred's birds did not resemble a UK style. Some here on BYC rather have a known IMPORTED UK BUFF then a Buff from Fred.

Cant wait to see the results Bill..so far great reporting from the show..get us some blk and whiteorp pics if they are there too...you are our eyes and ears

Im kind of liking the 1st rooster and last hen...Im thinking hes a cockeral?.nothing too bunched or pinched going on there..but really looking forward to seeing Dougs.I know how it is , go to take a good pic and they move..so that white in wing is a deduction but not sure off the top how much..dont have the book with me ..im out on wireless. if its a cockeral then he'll loose that feather anyway wont he? and the adult most likley will be right color maybe, and maybe thats cause Im used to australorps and that is perfectly normal on aussie cockeral to have white wing tips ect...they shed those off later..Im no buff expert for sure...nice bunch of birds

if you see faulkners , say hi for me..they have a goose and a maran that have been champion everywhere they have been shown out there..

The Orpington booth is right next to the Marans booth. I will ask if they know him.

Here are my two new additions. Their Dun based pullets in addition to my grand daughter of BUSTOFF plus BUS is in with them. I now have a decent little flock of DUN birds to play around with. BUSTOFF is crowing up a storm and seems to be thrilled. I did not use him this year but come this spriing he is ready and rearing to go!

Nope, these don't look like any buff orp chicks I've ever seen. They appear to have white tips coming in. Where did you get them and do you know what kind of birds they raise?

Bill, those are some nice looking buffs. It's amazing how similar they look. I thought a white feather is a DQ on a buff though. I also thought size could only be so much over the requirements. Do you know what the limit is?
