Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

BamaChicken,
Your birds look just super. I am very envious of your stock. Good luck with this seasons Jems.

Bill,
Nice big split Lavender, you are now on your way building another pen probably. Good luck with him. Shame I live so far away I'd give (give means free) you some pullets.

Harry, I mite have to scoup up Ohio and throw them on the Oil leak in the Gulf, and then come over and take you up on that. lolol Interesting you say, I have a nice portable pen for the BUS and his current stable of 2 Blacks and a Splash hen. I am no where near the numbers you folks have on the ground. And IF self Blues are coming out, I am in for making more.
Julie I agree with Harry, your Blacks are superb. The boy in the first pic looks awesome. I wish I could lay my hands on him and throw him in one of my Black pens to play with. Very nice!!

Chickenlittle with out looking it up I think that blue pullet on wire is around 9 or ten weeks old. There are two blue cockerels in that pen the same age. I have two black cockerel in that photo that are a week younger and there is black pullet and another blue pullet. In the pen behind them that you can see chicks there are two groups of 4 and 5 week olds. I have one more hatch and I am done till cooler weather again. To hot here to be hatching chicks. I put all these last ones on wire at 2 weeks with no lights. I have pen of blacks about 20 something of them growing off too. Some buffs in hatching the bator but i have a friend taking care of them and raising them off. I am going to get pics of the parents. They are just awesome.

Bill if you lived close by I would give you one of the blacks. I have to many in that hatch. I have a bunch of young black chicks growing out now too so I will be cockerel poor. I am making a sweep through the grow out pens this week. I have a few families that want some pullets and i have about three that I am not keeping to grow out. so they will go to a good home for eggs.

Imogene needs to take some pics of her group I gave her in Jan. The pullets make my jaw drop. They are some very large girls. I just hope mine who are from the same pen are half that nice. I think they will be. She only had two black cockerels in her group but they are some big boys.

Julie your so nice! I seem to be starting to pick up the pace here. No shortage of boys. Between Julie's gorgeous boy Doc, who is on my best girls, and Feran, who I have on Julie's girl and another black and Blue, I am getting Blacks and Blues from three pens that I am hatching from. And one is the BUS pen.
I like many, have a tuff time letting go of my lesser boys. My one year ole Flozelle and Cyrus are back burner boys who both have much to offer. However, I am overloaded with eggs to choose from in my top pens. Buffs included. EVERY egg from my top 3 BBS pens and my Buff ORP and Cochin pens go into the bators. It is a conveyer belt of hatching eggs. Very addictive

Here's another weird looking boy. Real bony.

My cockerell James and the pullets Henrietta and Marianne (or Marihenne as my daughter says) on their first day here at their new home. Not the best pic but after 2 weeks still haven't had time to get better pics. Too busy doing other chicken stuff ie. spoiling!

First eggs are in the incubator. So we'll see how that works out!
