I'm still trying to find out where the host motel is....not that that is always a good thing. In years of showing , I have stayed in some duzzies ! Thanks for the heads up about downtown Knoxville. It has gotten worse I understand.

Like many other cities around the country Knoxville is trying to revitalize the downtown area but it doesn't make it a good area. It is surrounded by the "bad" areas and it would be very easy to miss a turn going back to the hotel/motel and end up somewhere you would not want to be. I am not trying to scare anyone from coming but just want all to be aware, take precautions and be safe. If you want more insight about the area I would suggest you look up the Channon Christianson and Christopher Newsom murders from a few years back.

Yes Pigeon Forge is located between Sevierville and Gatlinburg.

Believe it or not...I knew it was in pigeon forge..stayed there long time ago when moving to colorado..and on way back just because..also went to HOT limpics..and it was a steam bath..took in the horse and water venues..so recognise lot of that area..I like to take the scenic route.

Good to know. The only thing I know about NY is I went through the city once or twice on my way to Cape Cod. I really did not care for it.

Please take my suggestion and go up to Strawberry Plains Pke (exit 398) its not that far and very easy to just jump back on I-40 and get off at the Rutledge Pke exit (can't think of the #) and you will not have to go down as far as Cherry St. That is horrible, I am so sorry.

ETA: I don't know if there are any motels left on Cherry St or not anymore and the ones on Magnolia Ave (the road the fair grounds is on) may have one or two left but I think they are either rent by the hour or week now...not sure.

I have lots of family in columbus. I went to college there & My mother was born and raised there. That would be a good trip to take. "knock out 2 birds with 1 stone".

Id love to come see your birds show and meet you and others. That would be really a good time!!

I am still looking for someone breeding SOP Buff Orpingtons in Arizona. I would like to buy are nice pair or trio. Having had a terrible experience with the PO I really don't want to ship birds of any age. I might take a chance on hatching eggs....

I think it sounds like a great time ! 2014 should be time to put together some good birds and get ready...we will see what comes together by then...I really want to meet everybody too..try out the local cuisine ect...

Yes it is a big state and I only saw what I would consider the part of the state that would not appeal to me. I think I would be to New York as I am to TN: close enough to get to a larger city but far enough out in the country to not see it, smell it or hear it. I like my peace and quite.

I would like to ask something completely off Orp subject. I am thinking I saw someone on here with an Ameraucana in their profile pic and I would like to acquire some LF white Ameraucanas.

I have recently had a disaster in an attempt to purchase hatching eggs to set at the same time I set my Orp and mutt eggs. Does anyone know who I could contact? I have decided if they do not come with a recommendation I am not even willing to consider them.
