Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I would like to ask something completely off Orp subject. I am thinking I saw someone on here with an Ameraucana in their profile pic and I would like to acquire some LF white Ameraucanas.

I have recently had a disaster in an attempt to purchase hatching eggs to set at the same time I set my Orp and mutt eggs. Does anyone know who I could contact? I have decided if they do not come with a recommendation I am not even willing to consider them.

If you want to see what I mean by disaster here's the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/755180/shipped-egg-disaster

If I am too far off subject here just let me know and I will edited my post. I feel comfortable asking this group because I trust you.
Thanks

Not only were they filthy... but appeared to have pecked indentations in a few of them. TOTALLY unacceptable. People.... cooties and parasites can easily be transported this way... :(

Yes it is a big state and I only saw what I would consider the part of the state that would not appeal to me. I think I would be to New York as I am to TN: close enough to get to a larger city but far enough out in the country to not see it, smell it or hear it. I like my peace and quite.
The city is where you go for the best Pizza in the world..and take in a couple broadway shows..I always go over to the bronx becuase amazing bakerys over there..and thats about it..

Upstate is another planet from there..lakes , places like watkins glen race track great lakes beautiful farm land , artisan farmers ect...ect...

I visited with Joel last night and we will have the District 4, District Meet at the ABA National at Knoxville, TN this Dec. for the United Orpington Club.

Let us know the Date Don..Im going to put in for it..No gurantee thou..Ive pretty well worn out my welcome with poultry show requests LOL! But I will try to offer to trade some holidays for it....

Lets stir up some activity on this thread.
Just put the old cock out with some of the hens. 3 are hens and one is the Akers pullet.
It will be down to the middle teens tonite and tomorrow. As an old farmer told me, once their combs are frost bitten there's no worrying about that happening again.

Here is one of his boy from last year. I have 10 of them most all are still indoors safe and away from the cold.

Bella is a very awkward hen. All the other hens drink from the water containers, Bella drinks from a dirty puddle. All the other hens sleep together in one shed, Bella sleeps alone in a separate shed. All the other hens laying the same shed, Bella lays in a shed alone were crows go in and take all her eggs. All the other hens only submit to the old cockerel and go crazy if the young one tries to mate them, Bella submits to the young one and goes crazy if the old one tries. All the other hens accept their place in the pecking order, Bella has about 2 fights a day which her mother usually has to take over because she looses and gets beat up. All together, I think she's quite awkward...
