Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Bella is a very awkward hen. All the other hens drink from the water containers, Bella drinks from a dirty puddle. All the other hens sleep together in one shed, Bella sleeps alone in a separate shed. All the other hens laying the same shed, Bella lays in a shed alone were crows go in and take all her eggs. All the other hens only submit to the old cockerel and go crazy if the young one tries to mate them, Bella submits to the young one and goes crazy if the old one tries. All the other hens accept their place in the pecking order, Bella has about 2 fights a day which her mother usually has to take over because she looses and gets beat up. All together, I think she's quite awkward...
Bella is acting like an only child. I've had a couple raised by hens but with no other siblings and they acted like that for a while. Except, are you positive Bella is starting all the fights? She could just be trying to be accepted into the flock and they'll have none of it. That's how she's acting, anyway from what you say. At least in my very short experience.

Such as, she may want to drink from the water but has been run off from it so much, she just drinks from a puddle instead.

Well here's an update from my babies. They are now 24 weeks old. I'm getting a medium pinkish egg a day from one pullet and they are indeed fertile so will give some to a broody soon. My best broody momma is setting now so that's perfect.

The one on the far left is the hatchery buff, broody Momma. Also decided to try out the "comparison to a 5 gallon bucket" thing but he wouldn't get close enough to it for a great one, anyway, here goes:

Nice photos

Took some pics of my #1 Black Orp cock to compare to my Brown/Red cock.

Feran is a nice wide boy.

He could be a bit rounder in the front and a more defined top line. He has the size comb I like. Clean face. He is going to be 4 years old

He was a mid summer hatch 2 years ago. Clean face, nice round front, nice size comb. He could use a more defined top end. But when compared to my Black cock Feran, Harold is okay for me.
