Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Took some pics of my #1 Black Orp cock to compare to my Brown/Red cock.

Feran is a nice wide boy.

He could be a bit rounder in the front and a more defined top line. He has the size comb I like. Clean face. He is going to be 4 years old

He was a mid summer hatch 2 years ago. Clean face, nice round front, nice size comb. He could use a more defined top end. But when compared to my Black cock Feran, Harold is okay for me.
Very nice Bill.

Bella is acting like an only child. I've had a couple raised by hens but with no other siblings and they acted like that for a while. Except, are you positive Bella is starting all the fights? She could just be trying to be accepted into the flock and they'll have none of it. That's how she's acting, anyway from what you say. At least in my very short experience.

Such as, she may want to drink from the water but has been run off from it so much, she just drinks from a puddle instead.
She was raised with her brother, apart from her mother he is the only other one she gets along with. I'm sure she starts all the fights, she just sits and stares at them then they stare back and she pecks them. She had a fight with my Ancona Bantam on Wednesday and its the first time she actually fought back after starting a fight and she was just about to win when she jamp to late and the Ancona won, but her mother beat the Ancona up after. I think she has been accepted after today but I am not to sure, it's been snowing so all the hens stopped in one shed and Bella went to stay with them and was in there with them all day and even ate with them for once. I hope she has been accepted because I feel really sorry for her.

She has to fight her way up in the pecking order. It isn't called that for nothing!

I know but she should start with the lower hens not the top hens! The Ancona bantam was a good move because she deserves to be above her. I hope she gets abit higher up because I feel bad for her but when she is above hens she is really nasty to them! She is also laying everyday now so I am pleased with her :)

You can see Bella's bum sticking up in the back, I think shes done well to be able to stay in there all day!

I'm betting on Bella! Now, when are you going to get her a proper Roo ? A good , big Buff Orp Roo would stop most of this foolishness.

When both my cockerels die, I will replace them with a orpington cockerel! If bellas mother goes broody again this year I'm going to give her one of Bella's eggs and see if I get anything.
