Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Bella's mother laying in this horrible weather, I thought she was mebys broody so I stuck my hand in and she ripped it open! I have never been so hurt by a hen in my life!:

Bella living with the big girls:

Bella and her auntie:

Johnn, Bella is just working her way up the pecking order like thedragonlady said. When a young one finally gets above the bottom spot, they are always way mean to the one or two they can be mean to. This is a reaction to the meanness shown them when they were at the bottom. With age they mellow and stop being that way, just takes a while. Bella is normal in my opinion. You don't see the same thing in her brother because he is a boy and for him it works differently.

Oh and the reason her mother gets in it is because she is top hen and her job is to break up fights. Actually it's the rooster's job but if he won't then the top hen should.

Part of being a better breeder is to listen and learn from your mentors. Both Harry and Alan really liked Yosemitee. And both said I should use him full throttle this season. I listened and will do as they say.
Yosemitee has already given me some fertile eggs. Everyone of them will be put into the bator and we will see how nice they turn out.
Thanks Alan and thank you very much Harry for sharing your wisdom.

I'm new to this breed and I have 5 buff orpingtons and I'm planning on getting some blue. What does the cross between these two look like. I've tried finding one online and can never come up with anything?

When both my cockerels die, I will replace them with a orpington cockerel! If bellas mother goes broody again this year I'm going to give her one of Bella's eggs and see if I get anything.
That might not work, I know some people said the same thing and the rooster lived to be13 yrs old..Then the hens were to old to breed.

Probablies wont, one of the cockerels in 9 now and the other is under a year so I cant see him dieng anytime soon. But they could be killed by something for all I know.
