Aveca,
I am not good at taking pictures and posting with the computer and I don't have photo shop to enhance them at this time. Who would I impress only a thief. Too many people I know have had their birds stolen. It is just a hobby. I give away more birds than I sell. Too many times my kindness has been taken advantage on here.

Thank you! This is my first try at Bantams. I am curious to know if a person can feather sex them like the English and Standard? I have become proficient at sexing them, but I admit, I am almost scared to pick them up, they are so tiny, but with such a loud peep!
So cute I just love the Bantams and the are just so tiny. Sorry I am not help with sexing until they are a little older but they are a lot of knowledge folks here.

Yes it is unreal how loud the peep from such a little bird. Good luck!

I am one of those lucky folks to get some of Harry's hard work. Harry knows I am very protective of his line. Only a select few who are into the hobby to better the quality will ever get anything from us.
Harry's cock he gave me for "free" has been keeping me with fertile eggs to hatch. Since I got Harry's White, I have only given away for "free" 3 Whites. 2 went to Lucasville this weekend to help out one of the better Orpington breeders rebuild his White flock. That is the way we like it. Help those who are good for the hobby, and as important good for Orpingtons.

I should also mention that Julie has been equally as generous. 2 of the Blue chicks from her line crossed onto some of my BUSTOFF line of Blacks.

Looks like Bella's mother went broody too soon, the person who I got Bella's mother and auntie off have some BO's hatching today and I would have got some if I had a broody! Oh well, I am probably going to hatch some next year because I cant use my own hatching eggs anymore :(

The Germans do everything with a lot of deliberation and precision.

This is one of my roosters, love his attitude, feather color and body shape, but his comb isn't very well cut with too many spikes, and too big space between the two back spikes. The bird on the right is a silkie bantam - he does mount the bantams but never harms them.

One of my buff orp girls. She's a gorgeous golden color, with a few almost invisible black/grey spots on her butt feathers. I've heard the buff color on your strain will fade if you cull all of the chickens with a little black in them so I'm keeping her in my breeding flock, but she probably wouldnt do well in a show.

True enough Harry..Its sad that people resort to being a theif..I also give away Birds to 4H kids , and people who just want them bad enough ..I know how that feels ....last year a young guy from upstate wanted some of the blk orps so bad I thought he was going to cry when I had to tell him no.....the weasles wiped me out..But in the end , I promised to do a hatch for him if he wanted them that bad...I kept my promise this spring....didnt charge him a thing as he has kids to feed...this guy went so far as to drive all the way to michigan and minn to get some blk orps after I had none to offer him.. so this spring I gave him a nice box full of rotund blk orp babies., and there were a couple in there that I might liked to have kept...he will cross them on his michigan birds..and I think he will do well with them..we met at a show last year..I got BB BV , but my birds were just a little young , not as confident quite yet, didnt show themselves well as they do when the hormones really kick in ..I had older ones but like I said, the weasles got me good...this young guy just liked them a lot..the way he hovered around my cages I had the odd thought he might try to take one..they were the last 2 I had so felt so bad having to say no..but we made up for it..

They sure do Walt..they will refine it and drive themselves crazy doing it...they just have that kind of focus....One of my PM freinds from germany told me that not always, but sometimes we in america tend to worry about things that we dont need to worry about too much,...... and not give a second thought to something that we do need to worry about......He said he lurks sometimes and reads different sites but doesnt have a lot of time for it, mostly in bad weather when hes trapped inside,, sees people work themselves into a sweat about a small color issue, his eyes see something different like your tail angles are dropping below your standard to be careful with things like that..get that right and the colors are fun to play with if you have room.....he gives me good german names for my whites .. Hes been a nice person that I dont bother a lot, but on occasion ask him a question or 2..

I wouldn't worry about a few black specks, especially if they are on the inside of the feather. If you show more of her in a picture I might be able to tell you how she would do in a show.

I love your signature!

I worked many times with Gus Vinhage of the ABA on admission of new breeds and he would drive me absolutely crazy in the way he would ponder and rethink things. We got along very well and we usually came to the same decision, but he would scare me when he took so long to make a decision. When he did decide it was correct and firm. "Vie will figure this out Walt". A good guy, but he scared a lot of people......lol
