Hi finally I can join I have wanted a buff orp for ages but no one ever had one
I have other chickens light Sussex's and a common brown hen but now I have a buff orp yay

She is called jazzabelle, jazzie for short and is still shy does anyone have any tips to get her tame or tamer.

Hi, Mine love grapes and bread as treats. it takes a little time but find out what they like best........I throw it close in front of me...then switch to holding it .eventually one will get brave and take it from my hand
then the others will get brave. For the lap, I put the treat there after they have figured out they can trust me.......and some will jump up to get their treat.
We have one old girl that likes to sit on my husbands lap to take her nap......It usually is not long before they are both napping......have fun
