Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

aveca- thank you. It would have been okay if it had been a cockerel but I will take a pullet. LOL

Here's some of my buffs. The girls are filling out nicely. If I can get the majority of my blues to look like this I will be doing a happy dance.

Can someone tell me how old they think my buff Orpington is? are? I don't know the age!

Thank you! That was Cuddles 'the cutie!' Someone else said 4 months so I'm thinking that's right! When do they start to lay?

it depends on how they have been bred...if she was bred to be a show bird which it doesn't look like she was...so looks to have a longer back..and if that is the case she was bred to be a layer. So she should as with most orpingtons start laying around 6-8 months

Thank you, you're right she's not a show bird, she is just a layer, that we keep free range. What HEIGHT do they reach, not weight? And also when are they fully grown?

Since she is a smaller bird bred for laying she may reach a height of 12-14 in. she probably wont get much if any taller than she is right now...she should start gaining weight now but she wont weigh much maybe 6-7 lbs. Since she is a faster maturing orpington bred for laying she should be 100% grown at 12-15 months.

English Orpingtons bred to the standard and for show can reach 18-20 in tall and usually weigh 10-15 lbs and are not fully grown 18-24 months
