Thank you Mountain Laurel Poultry

Lildinkem - I am sorry, I did not mean to open a can of worms regarding your cockerel, just am trying to understand it all.

Mountain Laurel, it is okay. I don't know how the genetics is set up on the cock either. Hard to feel bad about something you like. I now have someone wanting to help me with my project. And when raisng a new variety, it is nice to have variety. Especially some from a known reputable breeder to compare. It is much more fun hatching out project birds cause you never know what may pop out. I sorta know what is going to pop out of my Blacks.
Faren is just 2 weeks away from one year ole. He and Doc, a Bamma boy are my boy I count on for the real deal Orps.

Here are my newest additions. Did I hit the lavender jackpot this time!! I have my lavender rooster (thanks to tuffoldhen) over split hens and got 5 lavs and three splits. I'm sure hoping for a group of girls too.

They will be two weeks old tomorrow. Oh, there are a couple of bantam orps in the mix.

Or maybe I'll get lucky and one of your Lavenders will be a cockerel and you can rehome him to me!

Mwahahahahaha!

But in the long run, wouldn't that make both of us lucky? Because then we'd have a breeding pair here in the Bay Area that could produce all the Lavender chicks we wanted!
