Sorry to disapoint but I can't breed where I live. We aren't allowed to have roosters.

Hopefully moving to a more farm like settings but not for 3-4 years. Julia is from Gumpsgirls eggs and I was told that Luna the older one is from jodys but I can't verify that as she came through 2 other people.

Wife is a huge Detroit Tigers fan. And thought let her name a Black boy. I had veto power. After saying no to "Inge". I had the choice of Brandon for a bird. Didn't fit.
We settled on
FIDRYCH aka "The Bird"

Still more to cull in the Boss's pen. Fidrych is safe.

Hey Everyone,

I just acquired a quad of Black Orpingtons, 1 Roo and 3 hens recently from a local Bird show that was held in a near by town. There were some amazing birds on display covering a wide variety of breeds. I am very pleased with my choice to take home these adorable Orps, I just had to purchase them, you what... I am already enjoying the wonderful characteristics of the "Black Ops" as they are nicknamed for now.

Over all a win win for me.

I look forwards to hopefully getting some new blood from someone close to my area.

Here are some pics of my New Black Orpingtons they are roughly 2 months old. I say roughly as I forgot to ask for the Hatch date.

They are currently on lockdown in the quarantine pen.

Hey everyone,

I will contact the lady who sold them to me and I will find out just exactly how old they are. I know that she hatched them out from her own stock which she got from Sandhills Preservation or www.sandhillpreservation.com
so they are according to her as well the site Large fowl, as far as I know Sandhills does not do a bantam Black Orpington, but I could be wrong.

All I know is that they are slightly smaller than my Buff Orps, and my Mixed pen of RiR's NH's Barred Rocks and Light Sussex,

And now that I spent some time with them I can honestly say that they are closer to 4 months not 2.
