Thanks for that, Jody. I forgot about that section. I'm gonna go take a look and see how everyone is doing. I hope there are lots of pictures. I think it is nice to have a section like this, especially for those of us who can't get to all the shows.

I love the fluffy butt pics too!

He knew the Black cockerel and the Blue cockerel are bro's. Dang ole people. How come their so wise? Jack made my Show. It feels like I won something getting a thumbs up from him. And the show is tomorrow. lolol

Okay, I have a question for you Orpington experts! I have 3 buffs from MPC that are about 2 1/2 months old. I noticed a few little black/grey speckles on the tail plumage of two of them. Is this abnormal?

Thanks!!!

Buildingmyark;
its not unusual for them to have 'smutty' tail feathers. Mine have them too. Its not a quality that you want to breed into anything, but the chickens don't know they are 'smutty' and they'll lay eggs just like the unsmutty ones...

Thank you, Noodleroo. So, does that mean that this trait would/could pass on to the next generation if they were bred? Do the spots get more bold as the chicks get older?
