Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

So sorry, breeding is out of my area; I'm more of a taming, injury and legal issue kind of girl. But I'm sure someone on here will know the answer. You may need to start a nother thread.

I have read somewhere on here that the hatchery birds are likely to have the smutty feathers so I believe that it does pass to the next generations. How that works; I don't know...

My Buff got a Champion English, and was beat out by a huge White Rock. And the White Rock deserved to win. A fantastic bird. 1,200 plus Open Show. My Indiana Black Orp breeder (Russ Milkey) showed his old Black Orp hen and won Reserve. His hen is the mother of my LahFawnDuh. I just hatched out a dozen from her this past month. She is VERY worthy Reserve Breed Winner. I am as happy for Russ as I am myself.

Harry,

We have to talk. The judge paul montieth is bringin us some Whites next year. he wants to get those involved all on the same playin field and make it work with these Whites.
I talked to Paul for 20 mins after everyone went home. He shown me how he AI's birds. Pretty cool. Now I have to starting doing it just to practice. It is relatively easy. he also said that those who preach that chix sperm will die in freezing conditions, is wrong. I got his email and will send him pix of my Whites. He ONLY has 5 or 6, and 2 are cockerels. he says to ONLY go with Buffs and not use Blacks or Blues cause of the leg skin issues. IF I wasn't so dead tired I could have talked to him for hours. A very cool dude!
