Ppssssttttt (*whispering in your ear*) She is gonna sell one of those white brothers!

Kathy are you getting that brother?

WOOOOWWW this is to much for me right now, I wanted to start to show next year, but i had no bird for that.

I really liked this pullet, but never tought that she could be a contender at a show, you guy's shown before right, do you guys think that she might do ok, I'm not talking get first place, but I don't want her to get last place either, think she could do it?

jon I think I would IF I was you. It is never a bad thing to have such a high quality breeder who shows regularly at shows you will attend. It is not about winning, it is about making the connections to make great birds. IF I never went to Columbus OH last fall I would not have the number of nice Buffs I have now. That is where the fun in showing is. And being beaten like a bad drum by Doug is good therapy. lolol

Yea i have thought about getting some of her Minorcas. The surprising thing is that her birds actually didnt do to good and I think I beat the white rocks from her stock at my county fair.

Well, I will have to tell you a story in person in OHIO next week why you did so well against her at the county fair. There are several really high quality White Rock breeders in our area. Doug and Dianne are two. And when you get to the Nationals you will see a few more. I am just starting my White Rock flock. Slowly and with the best I can get, within reason. I have to be patient and wait for the right pullets for the White Rock cockerel I have. Never in too big a hurry to make a mistake. And buying inferior breeding stock can be and usually is a mistake

The black on the comb from what I understand is gypsy comb.

Bill it was earlier in the year so the birds may have not been as developed and also she may have had the kids who were showing pick the birds that they wanted to show and they didnt pick the best.

Edit: was getting off topic

I have been told to consider it a victory to win BEST in Breed, to win anything better is only gravy. Usually you have to have alot going for a bird to win a show. Your nice Blue pullet would do well in most shows in breed and English. Could she win those all depends on where and who you show against. There is one or two ticky tac traits that could be better. But I am talking ticky tac traits. Nothing that would DQ her. MAYBE shave a few points off her card. Again I am no judge. Not even a good expert. I judge my birds without asking others thoughts and that is exactly why I like to show. Then you can find out what others see that you or your mentors do not.

jon there is a little more I will tell you about when we hook up at Ohio. I haven't a clue about Silkies. I leave that to those who own them to make that call.

Ohhh thank you, I really would like to show her now, just to see where she stands, now I got to go find out where the shows are, hmmmm where to start?

Hi guys. I'm happy to see all the photos from the show today. Those are some nice Orps. I am partial to large breeds & I wish these shows had more LF.

I had asked a question a bout 4 pages ago, I didnt get an answer and dont want it to get lost in the chat. It was post 2018 I think. If you could take a look and let me know if you can answer my question I would verry much appreciate it
