Thanks for the compliments! The interesting colored one is one of my favorites. I'm not sure what color she is exactly. Here's some more of her.

Turbo she is only limited by the lighter eye. But that is only a one point deduction. I think she will have some more competition coming in from the West Coast. but, Tony said he is going to bring his cockerel who is also huge.

Jen she looks like a Dun based bird. Very nice type and size.

I am sure that will be a really strong class of LF Orps at Crossroads..west coast-east coast...but in the end....the Indiana birds will be hard to beat, especially with Doug on the Indiana team

Im really excited to see the results of the show..make sure to post a lot of pics for us to enjoy! I have been reading exhibition poultry on line but they dont really have a lot of show results and pics.. some really good articles thou.and I wish poultry press would just turn into a color magazine.. they have been getting more color pages latley...cant wait to see dougs entries.

I just let these oddities come to me. It seems IF I try to make something, I always have something else pop up. Like my Lav cockerel is making Cuckoo Blues. So I have Cuckoos and will make Cuckoo Blues. I had 2 of the Jubilee project type of birds pop out from an accidental breeding and breed them together thinking a Jubilee looking bird would come out and I get New Hampshire looking birds or a Red. So I go with what the birds are giving me. Now I have DUNNald DUCKwing Dunn. So a friend is bringing me her 2 Dunn pullets to Crossroads to breed to DUNNald. I will have a nice quartet of DUNNs to work with. The list of oddball varieties seems to grow by leaps and bounds. I have Exchequers, Mottleds, Birchens, Brown Reds and soon to be Lemon Blues. Not too many are doing any of what I listed. And prolly not too many will want any. But the culls will sell like hotcakes. So I will continue.

interesting..I had a bad year with australorps that way..I didnt have good hens..should have known better than to try with them..somehow I thought my roosters tail was going to override pinched tails both ways...nope..it doesnt work like that..but they all found good farm homes..hopefully it will be a better year with them this next year..

I told Doug I thought he had the best I ever seen. But he said Tony Ewert has some he likes as much or better. I like the hometown guy's chances though. Either way it will be fun!

aveca even sometimes when you have both sids covered with quality the dice seem to come up snake eyes and you can't make squat in quality. And sometimes you can take two lousy birds and make a show champ. It really has alot of luck involved when breeding for quality. Lots of numbers and a hope and a prayer

No that I thought I could stand a chance but y'all make me want to
