Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Yep. Definitely a warm weather bird. I clarified with Keith and the naked gene is like an albino gene and Just pops up occasionally. He just continued to breed it when it did.

thanks

For the moment I guess I have the albino gene!

Maybe 4 lbs full grown. The ones in the pic are about 4 lbs. they are basically a naked neck without feathers but some smaller probably do to using so much energy for keeping themselves warm.

I got my first Orpingtons today at the Oregon Poultry Swap, I got two little chicks a splash and a blue. They are huge next to my d'Uccles. It's so cute, they have big fluffy butts already!

Yuk. What I'd like to see is a naked neck with feathers on it's neck. What I mean is, a bird with half the normal amount of feathers like a naked neck has, but with some on it's neck to keep it from looking so much like a vulture.

These featherless ones just are creepy. And the amount of care and attention to temperature they'd need, forget it.
