Thanks! Yes, she is huge! She is bigger than my Barred Rock rooster in weight, but not in height.

Can you tell if she is overweight or if it is just her breed?

I will be getting more orpingtons when I move from the same breeder to start my own little flock of buffs. I just love them!

She looks like a healthy size bird to me. Make a 100 from her and cull down to 2 trios and you will be seeing yourself in Champions row in the future.

Prolly not a whole lot of folks on here from the Indiana area. But for those who love the hobby and like to travel there is a 4-H seminar Sat at 10am here in Lebanon IN I will be attending. This catters to the 4-Hers but has much info vital for the new begginer hobbyist. For folks like OSUMAN or others who like to attend PM me for details. I do not think Doug would mind at all. He is running the seminar. Hope to see ya there. I will be bringing my pal Lee and expect to see a few other familiar faces.

Yes, they are. So long as they meet the standard in appearance and reproduce true to type, an Orpington can be any color at all.

Hi everyone! I was hoping to get an expert opinion on this one.. about 9-10 weeks old.. No crowing yet. Sorry about the odd stance. he/she wouldn't cooperate so I had to hold it. This is my first and only Orp I have hatched so I have no idea how the develop. Feathered in quickly. Thanks for the help!
