Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I would say you have a handsome cockrel based on the age and all the red in the face

my pullets that are 6 months old have barely any red at all.

Very nice color

He was my only Lav to survive my hatch from eBay eggs. If anyone closer to me has some Lav Orp eggs they can sell please let me know. I would really like to have a few of these girls running around my yard. Thanks!

Don't count that chick out just yet. Orps can surprise you. I sold one that looked just like yours and it turned out to be a hen. A hen that I kept turned out to be a roo. Orps are slow to mature. I would wait a bit. I raise Blacks Blues, and Lavenders. You will get a difference of opinion I'm sure, but hold out. You might be surprised. My 4 month old roo has some color in his comb but not too much. Good luck!

Nice day here to take a pic or 6.
Hen from last year's breeding of a BUSTOFF offpsring to each other.

Same girl. I only kept 3 of last year's Blacks from the BUSTOFF line. The other 2 hens are in with my Cuckoo male I hatched from eggs from the King of the Lavenders of the USA

IN honor of the KING, here is
HAROLD

HAROLD is in with 2 other males. This poor Black is younger and most likely a cull.

One of my Black hens got out and as punishment I put her in with Harold. The one Blue pullet is now relieved he has a new woman to harass.
Harold is very excited!

I really like the feather width on Harold

Here is Barr Brady. He is my FREE new addition to my flock. He is 1/2 Russ Milkey line and 1/2 of my original Black line

Almost forgot I am taking this girl to Harold too!

Oh, you all have such beautiful BO hens. My BO has finished her molt and just earlier this week her ear lobs and wattles have turned red. Her comb is somewhere in between pink and red and she's got ATTITUDE which is not like her. So I know we're getting close. I can't wait. I had to buy a dozen eggs last week.

I have a gender dilemma with one of my 10-11 week old splash Orpingtons. For the longest time I thought She/he was a pullet, but recently I've noticed some shiny, pointy, "boyish" feathers on her/his back that look a lot like saddle feathers

She/he has just as big of a comb as my other 10-11 week old orp who I'm pretty sure is a pullet (no suspicious feathers) and is slightly pink in color. Can I get opinions? Pullet or Cockerel?
On the bright side, at least I would have a breeding pair?
Here are my most recent pics of... it

I will try and get close pics today.
