Mine are going though the molt thing right now. It ant cool! lol They dont look to bad but they have stoped laying. How long does it take?

OMGosh I am so glad I looked at this thread. My girls are only 5 mo old- so guess I will see this next year...and now will recognize molt and not some horrible feather/skin disease (

). Thanks for saving me in advance from scouring the emergency blogs and worrying over nothing. Poor babes- they all look so itchy.

oh my, these pictures are hillarious.. i am glad you showed them to us newbies.. my parrot molts but nothing like these chickens. that one of the picture before.. then after had me laughing out loud..what do you do if it gets cold before they have their new feathers in? some are really bald poor things.. do the hens molt harder than the roos?
 
Here is my poor Miss Paula. One was taken last summer when she was about 6 months old and here's what she looks like today, poor thing!
