Day 8 for my broody.

Here's more pics! Lots of Bielefelder roos. Only 3/15 are pullets.

How can you tell already if they're just 8 days old which are roosters?

We've got a hen sitting.... Hopefully we get a good hatch!

I have two hens sitting and Saturday is day 21. I'm hopeful but afraid there aren't any chickens in them thar eggs these poor gals have been sitting on so long! I've tried to candle them but I can't see anything.

My broody is sitting on 7 eggs on 8th day of incubation. The Bielefelders are auto-sexing at one day old. Chicks are 3 days old in pics.

Are the males a different color than the females then?

Yes, sort of. Males are paler with a white spot on top of their heads. Females look like chipmunks across their backs. Generally darker in color. I'll try to post pics later.

None of the 12 eggs had any chicks in them! Red's legacy stops at his death.
