Post Pics of your Leghorns

I've had bloody eggs from time to time with no issues at all, but in one instance, the hen had a prolapse. Have you checked to see if everyone's anatomy is normal? My hen showed no signs of any health issues ... I just happened to be behind her when she went bottom up to catch a bug.and I noticed it.

The hen I suspect who laid it is on the porch laying her egg now..its her favorite spot, of course the one place she's not allowed lol I'll check everyone today just to make sure everyones okay.

I vote pullet. The colors on a male are very different. Also, she has female feathers.

So, pullet x2!!! :D
Thanks for the vote. She is the only white egg layer we have so we should have confirmation soon. We have an EE roo,a sex link, a barred rock,4 Swedish flowers. The jury is still out on a 3 month old adolescent. He is looking like the EE. We are having to exert will power to not add to our collection.

I dont have a picture, but do have a video. I'll have to upload it to youtube and post link. But I've heard that leghorns aren't as friendly as other breeds...well my girls were eating out of my hand and are 2nd to the calmest I have (Speckled Sussex hen is our most calm) And nwo they are the first to come running for treats when they see me.

Congratulations! And here's to many more to come!!!

Here's my exchequer leghorn. Quickly becoming my favorite bird. Curious, brave and smart. I have a silver lakenvelder (crazy easily spooked bird) 3 partridge Cochins ( they are so identical I can't tell them apart, so they seem to have less personality although they all seem to eat first) one white Cochin ( very slow to do anything) one Sicilian buttercup (super smart and super flighty) one barred rock ( everyone's favorite ) and 2 silver spangled hamburgs ( the scaredest birds ever). The leghorn seems so interested in exploring and foraging that she stays out of flock politics most of the time. While the rest of the flock is posturing and working out the pecking order, she's always out looking for bugs and exploring the garden by herself. I love her.

Thanks maralpz2006! She's such a cool little bird. I thought she would be a little larger, but she's the smallest in the flock.
