She was found as a puppy at like 4 or 5 weeks old and them stayed in the shelter for the first 4 months of her life (well until she was 5 months old). I don't know why nobody wanted her.. She is just so darn cute! She practically vibrates with energy. oh, and she likes to sleep under your bed like a monster waiting to come out when your asleep to lick your face!
wow, shes beautifulHi guys, we have a pit mix that we got off of craigslist about a year ago. Her name is Boots, and she is 3. She is a wonderful dog, other than her taste for chickens and geese. She is great with kids, and respects our old lab. She is really playful and energetic, which makes her have a few minor issues, but all dogs do. Here's boots:

Glad you adopted her!! She looks like such a sweetheart! Its sad to know that there are people out there , that just dont care about another life. I cant imagen what that poor girl went through! This is Kiara, my pit mix. I went to the shelter almost 6 years ago & she was a couple of days away from being put down. She was the only dog that wanted nothing to do with me when I went to the shelter & had failed a few of the aggression tests that they do at the shelter before adopting them out. I knew that if I didnt take her, no one would. I found out while adopting her she was about a year old, and that she had previously been a breeder for a pit bull fighting ring that was raided. She came in with a few of her puppies, who had been adopted within a few days of being put in the shelter. So, she came home with me, she is the best dog I've ever had. Shes an amazing guard dog & perfect around kids. Shes still a little leary of men, and animal aggressive, but shes come a long way from when I got her.![]()

thanks, oh, I spent days on the couch with her crying my eyes out. and that was the only time that she was even sick. She spent the whole time puking and once I stopped, she got better, so I think it was her nerves, kuz she hasnt done it since. Shes very in tune with my emotions, its kinda scary. The first vet I went to, wanted to put her down on the spot. She said my dog wouldnt make it through the weekend, but if she did to take her in monday for more treatments, well Kiara was alive on monday, and I took her in and she told me she wouldnt make it through the week (and told me that I needed to do the "right thing" and put her down...) , its been almost 3 months now, she is still acting normal so of course I went for a 2nd opinion the next day. Then a 3rd opinion, the 3rd vet that I went to ran more bloodwork, and seemed a lil more optimistic. The good thing is, when I was at the third vet, her bun level had dropped back to normal range, and creantine was back to almost normal, but at that point, she had just had a week of subcutaneous fluid drips everyday, and only had a 3 day break from it. I honestly dont know without being able to check her blood if she is making progress, but there isnt anything else they can do so I dont put her through that anymore. They think she has Lymes Nephritis, which is a disease that you get from Lymes disease. I promised her no more vets unless she gets really sick.. So now its just a waiting game, I have faith in her, shes a fighter & shes not gonna let a stupid tick kill her.im so sorry!!! That made me want to cry!!![]()
Is there a chance she'll pull threw the lymes?
