My male Narragansett poult last year adopted six bantam chicks and brooded them as good as any broody hen could do. I think that many turkeys retain "family" instincts that have been bred out of many chickens.

My blue palm is sitting on 6 eggs. Due to hatch May 7th I can't wait. She started out with 11 but my overbearing tom wont leave her alone. I have since fixed her nesting area where he can't get to her.
I have 3 poults in my brooder. They are all 5.5 weeks but huge differences in size. The biggest is definitely a male... I am hoping the other 2 are female. What do you think?
large turkey - hard to see in picture but snood is developing and prominent.
medium and small turkeys - snoods are very small.
