They are magical turkeys.good guessing,but that not the answer,i have plenty shade here,most of the time they are among the trees here,i have sun in my pasture,they rarely go there,any other guess's from anybody?
Does anybody know the most likely breed of turkey to go broody on her eggs and be a good mother?
Thanks I have some very young royal palms so I will just collect the babies when they hatchFor the most part all of my heritage hens will go broody. I have narris,bourbons,royal palms,chocolates. And last year slates.
Now being a good mother is different story. My slate and narris were the best mothers last year. But they were older birds.
One hen hatched and when the eggs hatched she quit. She just wanted to brood.
Being a good mom depends on age and the hen.
