@MysteryChicken I can't find any photos of any of my birds at this age, but here is an example.

Here's a bunch of pictures, you can see a profile shot of the buffs with the "definite hen" in the background.

These are three months. Your "rooster" is 4 months. Therefore a hen.
Although these aren't buff orp, the point is the same.

I'll still get better pictures of their faces today. It's too red to be a pullet, the other 3 are a pale pink. I've butt checked it just in case it was going to be an early laying pullet, but the pelvic bones are closed tight, so it's not that.

Hard to say...the face is feminine but the comb is very pink.

I have 6 here that need sexing. 2 Brahma (chicken number 1 & 2), 2 Speckled Sussex (number 3 & 4) and 2 Buff Orpington (number 5 & 6). They are 8 weeks old & real characters! The pictures are the best I have as they all crowd the camera! They are in order. In the first photo it is the white one at the back

The Barred birds are Cuckoo Marans. Barred Rocks have yellow legs.
Those are all pullets.
My Barred Rock pullet for example.View attachment 2211926I see 1 Orpington cockerel.

Oh my! You are right they all have pink undertone legs; nothing close to yellow. All 4 are super friendly. Come running to the gate and hover at my feet. While I work in the coop I can put one on my shoulder and it will happy sit there. Thank you!

15-16 week buff orps. Not sure on the sex of these.
