Ruffed grouse and turkeys at our house in Michigan

Oh my gosh, I recently completed a wildlife photography class and for one of the lessons all pictures had to be taken in our own back yards, soooo.........well, all I can say is hold me back!

This is a Great Horned Owl who hung out in my Palo Verde tree for a few days, then went on his way. Can't believe how unconcerned he was with all the goings-on beneath him - people, dogs etc. My chickens didn't do any free ranging for a couple of days there.

This little roadrunner and a few of his buddies are often around. Hard to photograph though, cos they do move fast. Especially when my Aussie Shepherd chases them. One of them made the mistake of stealing the dog's bone one day and they've never been forgiven.

Not sure what this scruffy little bird is and if anyone knows please share. Not a great photo but I loved the way he seems to have acquired a whole stack of cactus fruit.

I'll have to get my video on here. I have a video of a wild Carolina Chickadee who let me touch it. It landed on my finger and ate out of my hand. First I've gotta find the camera though.
