I kept my guineas locked up @ night. They come back to lay in the pen during the day. So far I haven't found eggs outside their pen. I am thankful they lay where I can find them but why do the stupid birds mave all the hay I put in the pen @ insist on laying the eggs in the dirt! I think I only have 1 gal that has a nest of hay. Everyone else insist on dirt nest! Sorry no pic. I am using my phone that is challenging enough!

My girls like cool/damp dirt & shavings mix to lay their eggs in. If they nest outside it's usually in cool damp dirt. I think they instinctively know that the dirt keeps the eggs cooler
