I have a strange one that showed up the other day. My suspicion is that it was from a new layer and the shell was soft when laid...please watch and share your thought(s).

These are crazy eggs - I've seen some of them before, but wow, never imagined they could vary so much. I am interested to hear about the prolapsed chicken and what exactly it was that she laid? Please let us know! Thanks and keep them coming ....

I have seen eggs like those on this thread. My guess is that things should normalize in time. I have had some pretty odd looking eggs in the beginning also.

Ok - - this is really weird! I just start reading in this thread this morning about these eggs and now "wha lah" - now I experience it for the first time ever. I found this soft shell egg with the "umbilical cord" this afternoon! It is so weird!!!

That one came from my Partrideg rock late bloomer. Her eggs are normal now and I guess tan is a shade of brown...She came as part of my brown egg layer order from McMurray last summer.

Well she laid a normal egg today, but I found she has an injury on her belly - maybe that caused the weird egg ...

Loving all the new additions, guys! I had a subtle weird egg today. I thought it was pecked and cracked, but they ended up just being "etchings" in the shell. This is from one of my 2 year old D'uccle hens.
