Post your Chick Pictures Here!!!

Hi All!
I'm a new chicken mama this year and am SO excited about having my babies! I have 7 chicks - 2 buff orpingtons, 2 barred rocks, 2 golden buffs, and a black lace polish. They all arrived safely and with the exception of 1 with a little bit of pasty butt, they're doing great. We took a short field trip out for a photo op and they did great. I hope it wasn't too early to take them outside, but I figured mama would have done it if they were doing it in nature. I watched them closely for signs of distress, and they didn't act cold, scared, or too hot. They really seemed to enjoy foraging - even attacking some flea beetles in my garden. I've been handling them a lot so they are not afraid of me, but I think I may have gone too far . . . the two barred rocks continue to leave the flock and follow me everywhere . . . I would put them back with the group, then they would both leave and jump up on me. It really was adorable!

The pictures are not real clear but i lean toward black sex link cross, you should go to forums and post this under what breed or gender topic, where the experts hang out

Two new additions any idea on breed? I am thinking some sort of sex link roos

I put a tree branch in the brooder today for them to start roosting on. I don't know if they will or not, but maybe it will stop them from trying to roost on top of the feed and water containers. They are just shy of two and a half weeks, I hope they try it soon. I love watching them.

Set one on it, it will jump off, do this a couple times with the same one, peak it's curiosity

Thanks. The pics were hard to get they are both really skittish. Hoping I can tame them down. My new hampshire ladys follow me around like pups.

All 48 chickens at roost, the smaller ones never roosted until i put them in the new house with the pin oak rungs, they would set on the 2x2s but they huddled up on the floor of the coop, i am really proud to have all these lady's and gents in the same house, it makes it somewhat easier to feed and water them
As they get older, you may have to separate the roos. Sometimes I have had to split up some of my roos. In some of my hutches and pens I do not not have to but in other hutches and pens I do.
