post your chicken coop pictures here!

Still a work in progress! (Need to put some paint on it) 8'X8' coop, 8'X24' run. 12 hens. Americana's, Welsummer's & asst yard chickens with one Jersey Giant/Rhode Island Red mix rooster to keep 'em on their toes! We just introduced the Americana's and Welsummer pullets to the older hens and rooster with only a few minutes of drama. Now, they are all bud's with only the everyday chicken yard expectations. And just a couple of days ago we got our FIRST EGG!! Whoo-Hoo!

looks great and so fast. It takes my husband and I months to do our projects. With him working .

In the 20X 20 is the chickens and duck's and in the lean to I have the quail, pheasants and rabbits 20X10 . My automatic watering system waters everything and I all so built these nifty feeders so they never run out ,it stays dry,and it's super easy to fill.
Love your set up all around!

Not much of an idea on the coop, but was housing 2 exchequer leghorns, but due to chicken maths, now houses two Peking bantams too.

Coop was free, needed new felting for the roof, cost £7,

the run surrounds the coop and is approx 5m x 7.5m and covered, so should be large enough for two leghorns and the little pekings. they have an old rabbit hutch and our xmas tree in one corner and will shortly be getting our neighbours tree in another.

total cost for this is about £45 for the roofing and the wire/netting for the run.

EEEEEKK!! I'm so excited to pick up our day old baby chicks in exactly 2 weeks from Ideal Poultry in Cameron, TX!
We've repurposed this metal shed with insulation and plywood walls to house our 6 new hens. I'm planning on using the "heating pad/cave method", aka mama heating pad, to keep them cozy in our house for a couple days before moving them outside here. I'm also planning to seal the floor of the coop with Blackjack #57 and using the deep litter method on top of that, which is also something I learned about researching info on this site. Thank you, people of Backyard Chickens for all the advise!

A metal shed in Texas is going to get really hot. I hope you put in a lot of ventilation.

Yes! We have a couple windows on that west facing wall, up top. And the door has a couple windows we can open, too. If I've learned anything from all my research, it's the importance of ventilation and dryness. Thank you and I welcome any and all suggestions!

Well, a weasel or mink can fit through a 2" hole. If that's the culprit, typically you'll find a bite back behind the head on the neck and the bird will be bled out. And they don't normally stop at one. 1/2" hardware cloth will become your friend real quick... either before to prevent, or after to recover and repair.
Agreed, rather do it before they get my girls!

Nice! It is absolutely wonderful! I think though being in Florida, or anywhere else for that matter, I'd add some cover to the run, or part of the run. My girls spend most of their day in the summer in the shade, they are kinda like vampires and avoid the sun at all costs, lol
