Hey there @Swurts greetings and welcome to BYC! Have no fears! Everyone has a "first day"

As for quoting a post, I think it's different on a computer to on a phone. I don't use my phone for internet, so at the bottom of posts (on my monitor screen), I see a "Quote" button that I click and it opens the post I'm quoting in a new window for me to type in my reply/comments. After I submit the response, there's a little green arrow next to the persons name that I quoted... If I click that, it takes me back to the original post so I can continue reading the thread. Of course if there are many posts after the one I quoted, there's the possibility that someone may have already replied in the same context that I did... Oh well

No problem!! It's okay, we all make mistakes! I still do and still don't know how to do a lot of stuff and I've been on and off the site for years lol it's okay

Just find the post you want to ask about and hit the little quotation marks symbol " under it.

I believe you're working from a cell phone KDOG... As above, it's a little different on a computer. It's good that multiple folks can respond with the differences!

Thank you everyone!!! Yes I am on my phone most of the time.
Welcome. I'm a relatively new poster myself. I have found nothing but a great bunch of folks on here. It's very helpful to be able to ask questions and get multiple views and answers.

Yup!!! I am on my phone :) I find it much easier but only because we don't have a desktop anymore and my laptop was broken and now only works plugged in. Plus I find both my computer and the desktop version of the site (which I can also switch to that view on here) to be fairly cumbersome. I don't know, just everyone uses phones now I guess and I find it easier :) computers are useful for seeing stuff bigger though.

And no problem Swurts.

And i agree that the site is very helpful :)

Here is tomorrow's project. 3 sheets of barn siding to be cut and installed after all nailers are up. I wired the inside of the posts tonight to keep them in while I work tomorrow.

Here are my new babies all lovey dovey, not bothering anyone.....They were all over me while I hung the inside wire. Some will even let me pick them up. When I go in with a water or feed dish they come running and climb all over me even though they have food and water.

Here are my trouble makers, especially the brown and black and red one (Leg Bar?) She doesn't just peck who happens to be next to her like the others, she actually runs all over the place attacking them just for fun. I fixed up the brood pens so the babies can eat because the 5 musketeers won't let them go in the coop to eat. I think there is a jealousy thing going on because when they go in the pen to eat, the hens peck at the screen and harass them til they get scared and run out. My next experiment is to lock all 5 of them up (except maybe the black one) in the large pen for a while and let the chicks get used to going in the coop unmolested. They all go in and out now but the minute one of the hens sees it they run in and chase them out.

If I can't get them integrated to the point the chicks can eat and roost in the coop I will have no problem re-homing or freezing the hens. I do not like bullies, period. Right now it looks like the only real bully is the one I mentioned.

no one likes a bully. The needs of the many out way the bad attitude of the one... We had a rooster that fell into that category some years back. He was vicious. He tried to draw blood if he could... He scared both my daughter and me.

All I have left is adding the wheels, the feeders, water station and a tarp for a rain shield/shade. All in all cost me about $250 to build it. I saw it on a post on facebook and slightly modified it with a larger nesting box area. I'll post a finished picture once we are done. Should be tomorrow some time.
