post your chicken coop pictures here!

When we bought this place, there were 7 or 8 rotted falling apart "coops" in an area we were turning into a horse pasture, so we pulled out all but the largest one. Spring rolled around and I managed to talk my hubby into getting chickens. So, we deconstructed the remaining coop, put in a raised floor, shortened the walls, left the roof overhang as a "porch", added a window, dutch doors, and a nesting box.

Before:

During: (no worries horse fans, I kept the entire process horse safe)

After:

We think it turned out pretty well considering we were working with an old structure to start with- nothing was level or square. Sense this last pic was taken we have added nesting boxes beside the door with a hinged opening on the outside, and we are going to add another hinged opening for poop boards under the roosts.

Love it lvoe your your horses too. I envy your pasture,,, I have to tie my horse up every time i work in her space because she Borrows tools and Tries to "help".

Mine just like to closely investigate, if I attempt to move them off or keep them away, they pout or investigate more intently. Easier for me and them to just let them sniff the hammer/drill/ect and keep anything that could hurt them out of reach. Super glad they dont try to "help" :)

Quote: I had her at a boarding stable for a while I had a resin chair in front of her stall.... The stable manager asked me to remove it. Not because it was in the way or anything. But because she would pick the chair up by the back and waive it at the other horses then watch them RUN about their paddocks. Youd yell at her and she'd say .. "What....!"

Thats awesome :) There was a gelding at a barn I worked at that would pull all the blankets / etc off his door and throw them out in the isle, but the chair is much better :)

Katee is a goofball....  all 2000 lbs of her Percheron Self...

She sure sounds like it! Lol at the place i used to ride one of the horses would stick her head out the door and stretch her neck all out when you were eating, especially if you sat and ate in front of her stall. She would try to steal it cause she wanted what you were eating LOL then some of the other horses, mostly the baby (5 year old) Morgan and a new draft baby (6 years old) would knock saddles off the racks outside their stalls LOL

So you'd be tacking a horse up in the aisle or removing tack, whatever, and have the saddle, blankets, etc. On the saddle holder things on the door and they'd slide them off
