post your chicken coop pictures here!

Nice looking coop and run. I have a couple of suggestions. 1) that looks like OSB board and not plywood. Get it painted as soon as possible! Moisture will start to deteriorate and rot it rather quickly. 2) You mention coons, chicken wire will not stop coons or other predators. I would cover at least the lower 2 feet with 1/2 inch welded wire hard ware cloth as well as extending it out 2 feet around the perimeter of the coop and run to keep out digging predators.
thank you for your suggestions they are very welcome. I have how ever taken some precautions you just can't see it in these pics. I will try to get one of it I have electric wire all around the pen it's about and inch off the ground and protruding about 2 1/2 inches out bahaha already heard the dogs sniffing around over there and finding it bahaha so no digging pest unless they don't mind a jolt. I also plan on putting one around the top for the jumping climbing critters too lol. I have to finish the top wire first though the tarp is temporary as I had to do something with Momma and John Wayne. I didn't want them staying in that dog house for very long and free range is certain death at my home my own two dogs would eat them so got to keep them safe

Here's our almost finished new coop. It's an 8x12 and will have an attached run. We recently moved and we were told by the neighbors there is high predator traffic here due to a nearby reserve. So we will be a attaching this type of run to it, hopefully it will do the trick! https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/permanent-hoop-coop-guide

The view out the chicken door. Not to bad! ;)

This was my husbands first time doing anything like this, overall he did a nice job I think! A few mistakes but nothing we can't work around.

Edited to ad: No more than 30 min after I posted I saw the pack of Coyotes at the tree line seen in the above picture. I counted 6 that came into the field. YIKES!

SIX?? Wow.

I think in that case, besides the excellent hoop run you posted, I would put up some electric fence. You want to make it hard for them to get even close to the run and coop. Nothing is Fort Knox, even though lots of us claim to have a Fort Knox coop

and most of us aren't up against a threat like you have.

Looks like a pretty good build.

I ASSUME you are going to cover the sidewall vent areas with 1/2" hardware cloth.

What is the size of the chicken door? I would research auto doors (in case you ever want to put one in) and make the door that size for easy modification

I would put something between the ground and the bottom of the coop to keep the chickens out of that space. You really don't want to try and retrieve eggs OR chickens from a space with that little headroom.

Are you in an area where coyotes can be shot?? Mess with my birds, dogs or kids... you die!!!

Oh ya I have the hardware cloth, I had to special order it to get 48" by 100'. A nearby hardware store can special order more if I run out. I'm putting 1/2" x 1/2" hardware cloth on the top vent area (and eventually some how replacing the window screen with it too) Also, access under the coop will be blocked. Been there done that! :p

As for the door I'm not concerned with size, hubby is going to convert a garage door opener. something like this:https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/659730/automatic-garage-door-chicken-door/30
Perks of marrying into a family that owns a garage door company...

We are not doing the hot wire at this time unfortunately. Non of the out buildings here have electricity.

It is legal to hunt Coyote in WA state year around with a large or small game license. But I will have to confirm this but I think we live in a No Hunting zone. Tons of wildlife here! Just got done watching the heard of (19 I counted tonight) Elk bugle, young spikes spar, and the big bull chase a couple ladies around. We love it here so far! I just need to make sure my chickens are safe and can love it too. We don't have a gun so I am going for predator prevention. If something does happen we have family, and good neighbors that would loan us one as my husband has his large game hunting license.

More pics if it works lol
That is a nice roomy well ventilated coop - very nice! I had two stray dogs break our chainlink gate to attack our first coop that had 1-inch poultry chicken wire and it was mangled badly beyond repair and the dogs would've got to my chickens through the wire if not for a good Samaritan neighbor that chased off the mutts. I suggest heavy cattle wire fencing or hardware cloth wire along at least the bottom of the chicken wire. Raccoons can easily tear the chicken wire - and 'coons usually kill chickens for the sake of killing and not for food.

Finally attached the 4x4 dog kennel wire pen to the 4x4 coop's pen to have a 4x8 space for the hens to roam in the morning before letting them out for the day to free-range the rest of the backyard.

It's that time of the year...

I saw a coyote today snooping around my neighbors yard at 2:30 in the afternoon as I was out running some errands, when I got home about 40 minutes later, I holstered up and walked around my pastures and out buildings making sure it wasn't lingering around my place... Been a quite summer, but it's apparently time to dust off the shotgun and have it on hand again...

I would think living where you live, and seeing those coyotes, it is high time you get some guns for your own safety, and your animals
