Tractor coop my hubby made

Inside of the coop (it's closed up so the ramp is laying on the floor)

Picture from the other end of the coop. I almost closed myself in trying to get this picture!! The box on the end is a feeder.
!
Coop all set up ready for the chickens!

Lid lifts up to access nest boxes.

Best tractor ever!!! I bet you can move it yourself. Right?

Hubby says yes, it can be moved by yourself. The tractor design really gave him some troubles. He had to rebuild the front axle several times. He was trying to make is a steering axle but finally abandoned that idea. And the large tires were helpful too.

I'm right there with you Sylvester.....except I'm a newbie with less than a yr under my belt.... babysitting some marans and silkies right now.. got them at 2 day old level. I've never had them this young. My EE are going on 5 weeks so I carry them outside during the day (don't have a predator proof pen yet) and then bring them in at night. But I have one of my marans that is not doing well. Seems to be the runt of the group so hasn't gained and grown like the rest this week. Got it separated and it is still live this morning but even my poodle knows this chirp belongs to that chick. He will go to the door wanting me to follow to take care of that baby.. Don't know what else to do for it... yuk !!

I had two APA Ameraucana juvies (10-11 weeks) shipped to me from a show breeder. She said that Ameraucanas grew at different rates and that one was smaller than her sister. Well we kept seeing that the bigger sister was growing by leaps and bounds but the little one never grew. I kept mentioning it to the breeder by email. "It's just the way Ameraucanas grow."

Well, by the 2nd week there was a significant difference in size between the sisters and emailed again that she was eating feed plus her own poop. By the 3rd week when the breeder finally responded, the chick was dead. The breeder's response? Eating it's own poop suggested digestive disorder and to worm the pullet. How can I worm a dead pullet? I kept telling the breeder what the behaviors were of the chicks. I couldn't believe she'd send me ones with worms. If she had been a bit more on the ball and forthright maybe I could've saved the beautiful bird.

I don't know what to tell you about your baby as I don't raise chicks but it reminded me of my juvie when you said it wasn't growing.

Thanks! .. I have 6 .. For now! They should b comfy. I want to Try to avoid going over board as I can't possibly eat that many eggs a week

Suggestions for using eggs: French Toast, Quiche (using a ready-made crust), Banana Bread, Breakfast or Cornbread Muffins, Poached Eggs (over toast or over hash browns), Scratch Pancakes, Scratch Waffles, Chinese Chicken Fried Rice, Angel Food Cake, Lemon Meringue Pie, Egg Bread, Yellow Food Cake, Cookies, Potato Salad (w/egg), Egg Salad Sandwich, Fresh Salad (tossed with cut-up egg slices), topped with Homemade Mayonnaise, Fried Egg-in-the-Middle of Pan Toast, Deviled Eggs, Steamed Spinach (topped with chopped boiled egg), Any Soup (with cut-up boiled egg pieces), Keep a half dozen boiled eggs in the fridge for afternoon snacks (or to cut up and feed some to the chickens), Spanish Omelet (good for dinner with avocado slices and salsa on top) mmmm! We use eggs for protein much more than meats in our household.

On the farm my Mom used to scramble eggs into cooked ziti or macaroni instead of cheese when she was out of cheese.

I probably missed some dishes but you'll definitely use those eggs once they start laying!

WOW! It looks great!! I'm soooo jealous, I'm waiting on delivery on my "Plan A" shed so I can get started fixing up the inside and building the run. Meanwhile, the chicks are outgrowing their brooder....YIKES!!
