The nesting box's are done I just need to finish the doors
And I have not put the windows in yet but the girls free range all day
You must have quite a few chickens to need that many nestboxes. What would you like to bet that the flock will only use one or two "favourite" nests to lay their eggs? We have 3 boxes but everyone wants the box closest to the door - maybe it's a room with a view? LOL They'll actually stand in line waiting for it and complaining the whole time for the current occupant to hurry up!

My husband recently finished our coop! Still a little final touches needed but the girls are in there!! And they love it!

Gorgeous build! I'm jealous! I agree with Bruce re the perch bar over the nesting boxes - not a good location after you see how much poop gets slung around. Your girls will probably either use the plank over the nestboxes to settle down on or they'll sit on the railing edge and poop on the nestboxes below. There's a reason nestboxes are designed with slanted roofs - to keep chickens from perching on them to roost.

With winter just around the bend, I discovered that Walmart has 60 Watt equivalent LED light bulbs for $5.00 and some change. They use hardly any electricity (11 watts) and remain cool to the touch. They put out a lot of light and last for years. (package says 22 years, but in the moist environment of a chicken coop in the Pacific Northwest Rainforest, the light socket is subject to moisture induced corrosion which can cause any light bulb to separate from it's screw in base in under a year. If you live in an arid or semi-arid climate, this shouldn't be a problem.) The 40 watt equivalent LED light bulb uses 8 Watts of electricity. The 60 watt equivalent LED bulb is really bright, I think I will try out a 40 watt version this winter. These LEDs can also be used with a dimmer switch. Mood lighting for your girls!
Thank you Cluckadoodledo! It just so happens I have to go to Walmart tomorrow so I will pick a couple of these up! I found a kinda broken but still nice oak squirrel feeder that a pint (?) jar screws into, so I was going to put my light in that, maybe with some kind of dilectric grease or something to help against our rainforest PNW conditions, lol! :gig

A picture of some of the girls
Lovely girls. Let me know in a couple years how your Leg and Wyan girls turn out in the pecking order. I've heard Wyans tend to be dominant and Legs chase gentler breeds. We had to re-home all our Legs from one year old to three years old and others have reported Wyans turn mean in older years. I'm sure that's not always the case but I read it so often that there's got to be some truth there somewhere? As pullets LF seem to get along but after maturity some breeds get very assertive/aggressive. Our Legs were terror on the Ameraucana and Silkies pulling out their beards and crests, chasing them out of nestboxes, hogging the feed, battling and clawing viciously, etc. We couldn't take the abusive flock behavior and had to re-home the bullies (Marans and Legs). I'd be curious to know how your flock personalities are in your mixed flock as every group is unique.

Everything we do is always with the chickens in mind - moreso than any other pets we've ever owned!

Can't tell by your photo but is the wire buried below ground to resist digging predators? We put a paver stone walkway around our coop and it saved our flock from digging dogs that broke down our yard gate.
