post your chicken coop pictures here!

Lol.ya!

Well the woman with the kids, when she first came over a couple of months ago, not only brought toddlers that chased the chickens, but also their new kitten.

Seriously? You're going to visit a woman working with birds and you bring out old control small children and a cat? Which you put down and let it chase the birds?

Common sense is what they need to teach in primary school.

Shoot. Maybe getting attacked Sunday was a good thing! :weee
This was me a few mins before I locked them up... Here's what I found .....

62 unheard of degrees today. Cold again tomorrow, which is good. I need more 2x4x8s and going to habitat to look at windows for the top. Also stuff to bud steps for me and a 6 foot ladder i can lift on my own.

coming along real nice. looking good! Do you really need a building permit to build a chicken coop?

stupid, i know, but yes you do. You need one for anything not on wheels. AND anything over 100 sq ft requires BLUEPRINTS! And architectural and structural review and approval. Which is why i am at 96 sq ft.

And i have a final inspection when i am done. Sure they make some newby come out to inspect a coop. Lol.

Well, I wouldn't make it Nebraska. I am first time builder. Fortunately, no building permits required.

That mini-egg is what STRESS does to good laying hens. That's why I don't put aggressive dual-purpose breeds with my gentle egg-laying breeds as I don't want them stressed by bullies. Getting spooked/chased/attacked by a predator/toddler is also stressful to hens.

Thanks for that info... They were attacked by something Sunday and we lost one. I feared we would lose the roo and a second hen but both are acting fine save a nasty limp from my lady... Probably her stress egg....
