My coop has 2 parts. Smaller side is to the right. I have a divider wall with a slider door bottom center, so when I get babies they and momma are separated. If you look close, the door is under the nesting boxes.

Other sideI love all of your pictures. Wish I had that room! Trying to figure out how to fix up something like you have with that chest which is just outside of your door so I would have room for a new hen coming in or a broody mama.

Very cute. I hope you are going to get her a friend? Chickens are flock/herd animals and really need to be with others. The cats nice but its not another chicken lol

Oh, I know. The big coop in the back yard has four hennies in it. However, Waffles has issues with playing nice with... well... anybody. Bigger hen, older hen, smaller hen, younger hen, doesn't matter. She goes after them, pins them, and just starts pecking. So... this way I can make "solitary" useful and pretty. Oddly enough, she seems to be fine by herself - she's much calmer, lays more regularly (and IN the box, rather than wherever she felt like dropping the bloody things!) I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but... for this girl, it seems to work. If I did end up moving her out, I think I'd use this for a pair of bantams.
