post your chicken coop pictures here!

That looks pretty much like I thought if you make the top deck all coop. My coop is 4X8 on the upper deck and then I have an 8X12 run plus the area underneath the coop. That comes to 160 square feet. With 14 birds it is not too large. The area under the deck is very useful for the feeder and for dust baths. It is shady so they like to hang out there during the day.

Old dog house....run is 10 feel long....3hens call this place home lol

My chickens are in a 12x12 stall in my horse barn. They also have a 10x10 dog kennel that serves as our chicken tractor.

I would like to post a pic but can't figure out how. My only Internet connection is on my iPhone. Love all these grate coops an runs!

My ultra-tiny tractor. Just one hennie in here. We have a TINY front yard, and it's all WEEDS, so we're letting her rip the crap out of one section at a time, moving her, then seeding behind her. Clucker Landscaping! (1-800-BUK-BAWK) Waffles On Duty. The lamps on top do light.

She's still getting used to her new roost -
she likes instead to sit on the edge of the nest box

This just cracks us up. Clucker Landscaping has its own security.
Big Black (a neighborhood tom) just comes by and hangs out with Waffles.
Doesn't bother her at all, he just keeps an eye on her.

So stinkin' cute! Great job! You'll have to pay kitty for security in kitty treats! ;)

Very cute. I hope you are going to get her a friend? Chickens are flock/herd animals and really need to be with others. The cats nice but its not another chicken lol

See the boards screwed on the left side of the coop, under the windows? The hole is cut for the nesting boxes but the ladies are only 5 weeks, so to keep them out of them, we decided to build them separately and wait until close to POL to put them on. As will be with the other coops also. There are sooo many screws in those boards, nothing on this earth, will be able to get in, well maybe a bear could, but they don't come up near the buildings nor mess with them!!!

This is our first coop almost done. Mostly what is left is cosmetic, the shakes and trim board and the two top vents ( plus hardware for all the windows and door and outside motion detector light ). The run is out back, in the trees, with half sun, half shade. Coop is 8" by 8' and run is 10' by 20' although the run isn't done yet. So shakes, trim boards on coop, and finish the run and the first coop/run is all done but the painting!!! One down, two to go!!! Oh, and this woodsy patch is kinda an island and separate from the real woods. Best thing is, it's right off my porch, will have electricity and running water! Almost ready to start the others! Oh and I'm going to paint them all, yellow, like my cabin in my avatar, with white trim, to match the surrounding buildings! Oh and the hatching boxes...how could I forget those, will be attached to the left, outside of the coops for easy access and more floor space! We also decided on the galvanized roofing, instead of the composite, mostly because none of us had ever put up a composite roof...the roof is on, just not in these pictures. Hardware cloth will go around the bottom of the coop, so babies can't get under, where I can't reach them!

I'm also building brooders, inside the runs, incase I need to separate the momma hens, or some babies need a temp home, and if we have a sick chicken, they will have an isolation dorm in the stables, wayyy away from the coops, as we are not using them for anything and never have. ( maybe down the road, we might get horses and cows, and will rethink our, sick ward housing, but until then, it's wired and watered and ready to go ). We are going to go with the nipple water system also and eventually PVC feeders that will hold a 50 lb bag of feed, or there about and food grade water barrels, to store rain water, for times when power is out! Still looking at the automatic doors, haven't made my mind up about those!
