Thanks Bruce. Ya I know staple gun staples aren't the best to use but I hammered in a butt load of them to help that lol. Plus we are outside a lot. My wife stays home with our 3 boys and the coop and run is only about 30 ft away from the house. And my workshop/shed is only 8 ft to the right of the coop. Between kids and the German Shepard running around here all day predators stay away from the house.

I have a half mile long driveway so I'm usually piling up about 3 garbage bags outside next to the shed before I drag my butt down to the road and put it away in the garbage cans. Even sitting for a couple days (wife hates when I forget and leave them sitting lol) I never have anything tear into them.
So since I'm not too concerned with the daytime predators I chose the regular chicken wire to just keep the chicks in there more than keep predators out. We are also talking about buying a new house so there's a possibility I'm gonna have to tear this all down and start over again someplace else lol.
Thanks Bruce here is a general picture of inside.More on my profile page. Painted inside and out with leftover paint to help timber last longer. Crate was sturdy but made from untreated wood.Still waiting on DH to build my poop tray.Which I will fill with cat litter made from zeolite. There is a good thread on here about PDZ which is same stuff. All natural and can be composted or put on garden.Apart from from screws hinges decor etc and$20.00 offcut of lino coop made from secondhand repurposed ''found'' items. SIL had a chicken wire ''teaching moment''.Their dog liked to chase the chickens while freeranging. Think he liked to make them flap and run.If he did he was tied up.However one day he was too quick and took a nip.SIL made a temporary run of chicken wire to isolate her while she recovered from several stitches.SIL then decided to give patient some of his bacon trimmings from his breakfast.Dog went straight through chicken wire with no effort leaving a large hole.Going for the bacon this time -not the chicken but still.Chicken has since made a full recovery. Was a bit funny at time .Needless to say dog is now supervised very closely around chickens LOL.

Are the curtains over the nest boxes store bought, a valence window topper?

Lots of beautiful coops being posted! I want to 'like' every one.

Thanks Lynn DH made nest boxes a bit tall bless him like chickens can't duck LOL.I made the curtains to make nest boxes a bit more private.I then discovered I 'd miscalculated the length so put tucks in them.Material is just calico from our local discount store and check left over from grandaughter's dress!
