This is my coop. It isn't quite finished yet. It not as glamorous as some coops on here. But I built it with some help from my dad and fiance. I also repurposed all the wood from my horse barn. I hope my girls will like it.

I think it's beautiful. I love rustic coops.

thank you! I really wanted to repurposed everything I could from my horse barn and I did right down to the hinges, door latch and other stuff. The girls are living it out there. Here's some with the girls moved in.

Ours is almost ready! Move in day is tomorrow- just need the paint to dry a bit more. The girls (7 week old Wyannotes) are more than ready!

MyPetChicken.com lists Wyandottes as dominant in their personality so its nice that the flock is all the same breed to be on an equal pecking basis. The Wyans are gorgeous to behold and best not mixed with timid breeds.

We had read that they are docile and friendly as well as cold hardy, which is why we chose them. I didn't realize that they were dominant in personality. I guess it's a good thing that we decided not to mix the flock then! Lol.

Took about 3 weekends an no plans to build my coop. I still need to fence in the run this week though. Build some diy feeders and I should be good to go. Opted for the automatic door, seems pretty sweet. We shall see how it holds up soon.

That run is only sufficient for maybe one adult. You will have crowding problems if your chickens are going to spend most of their time in that.
