post your chicken coop pictures here!

Small and simple, but me hens are happy enough. Needs to be open because of all the hot weather we have. Okay. I must admit, I'm embarrassed. Everyone else has these beautiful picturesque coops with wood chips and pretty decorations. And here I am with straw and shredded paper strewn everywhere, because my hens just don't care. My grass is overgrown, because my mower broke, and I just haven't had time to fix it. I am embarrassed.
This was more what I grew up with than the mansion I built lol Bout all they really need. After seeing egg prices and limit signs i'd be smiling real big if I was you

This is what my four girls have. An 8x8 shed, and off to one side is a wood planter box that i repurposed into the nest box. On the other side is their gravity waterer. They even have led pastel Christmas lights for our gloomy and wet Washington winters. Not fancy, but we're proud of it and the chickies seem to love it!

Silly chickens... Good thing it's still 'summer" and better thing that the skunk didn't get them :barnie Sounds like you had an "adventurous" day yesterday    Hope today went more "as planned."

Yes, Thank goodness we had a much nicer and uneventful... we got our 5 tons of hay and half of it is already stacked...we'll get the rest stacked tomorrow... I sat out with the hens and watched them eat lots of bugs and some watermelon.... they were actually eating the alfalfa in the hay... and we had to reprogram the automatic door for the chickens... well we had a very busy few days... off to bed early tonight......

Ok I felt bad for my five girls and really wanted to add a couple more so today we started adding on and ended up with an 9x12 run and its 8 feet high. The original run was only 4x8 and I felt it was way to small. I hope to finish it in Tuesday but for now the girls seem happier and are safe. In going to add a new waterer and feeder so I don't have to get in the run to add feed and water. How many hens could I put in a run this size? I'm also gonna add another 8 square feet to the coop.

Generally, you need about 10 sq feet of run space per adult bird. Large breeds need more, bantams need less.

I used a greenhouse frame for the run and dug down so I could put wire fencing as the floor and then back filled about 6 inches of sand and pine chips. I've got solar motion lights, "Predator Eyes" and wolf urine hanging to complete the security detail. Hubby insisted on building a "good looking" coop...who was I to argue? I've also got a solar shed light and solar LEDs for supplemental light.
