post your chicken coop pictures here!

Here's the coop my husband built last summer. We repurposed the door and windows from our house.

This summer I added curtains and an awning to keep them cool. The sun beats right in in the afternoon. What a difference it makes!

Not sure if you can see the top curtains, but I found material with chickens on it that happened to match the color scheme.

Thanks! This is what we started out with:

It got old fast bending down into that little door to clean their run! And covering the added run with a tarp so it stayed dry. Then this happened:

It was our gazebo that was over the table on the right. The new one can stand up to this and much more!

Oh wow.. we have a smaller coop for our younger birds we keep separated from our main flock until they are big enough to defend themselves. The run is tall enough for my kids to stand in with clearance but we have to crouch through the door to get in it.. there are pictures of the new one we just finished ^up there somewhere. We are enjoying the 6ft tall run and human size door :)

We have 8 hens and 2 roosters in ours right now. We have 3 hens from our meatie flock I want to integrate to see if we might get bigger eggs out of them than what my EE's are producing.

Here is a picture of our girls condo, very simple but they are happy in it. We just love it.

This is still a work in progress as we have yet to cap off the saufets and put shingles on as well as a few more barn wood pieces but the upgrade is wonderful for them from the small white one which is now for the bantys.
