post your chicken coop pictures here!

Well hello fellow chicken keepers!! Ive been on BYC for several months now. I am about to take on several projects one of which is a bantam coop with an enclosed run. I had three bantam an EE pair and a white Cochin hen. Unfortunately the bantams some how escaped and my neighbors dog got the EE roo and my Cochin. All that's left is the lone EE hen and the 3 chicks that I was able to hatch from the original bantams. So.... my goal is to make a coop within a enclosed run and make it interesting so they dont get bored. Something like this.....

Here's mine. We had to get creative to protect them from the rain and low temps. This is just temporary, but it's 55 square feet, 4 hens, and they free-range during the day.

Just had to replace the roof (store bought coop and run) and attached the coop and run to a 5 x 5 dog kennel.

I plan on building another in a few months to replace this one. Rain and wind have been a problem, hence the tarp for protection while I research, plan, and budget for the new one.

Thats what I do for mine.... a big very big tarp.... My coop / run is 16 x 16 feet... going to redo it someday.... No poultry right now anyway.

But those tarps are excellent I have been able to keep mine for two years at a time.

GAchicken sounds good to me. For just a few hens that's a lot of space.

I have tarps on my open air pens right now to keep the wind off the birds. I have tarps over the top and on three sides.

been working on some walkways by the coop.. I used a tarp also until spring comes around then I can add a more perm type of roof over the henhouse run area......look forward to getting some grass in and the roof done......so many things not enough time it seems like

nice set up, wish i could put roof over my run, but it is way to big, like 60ft by 80ft we have 43 hens and 2 roos, we used 2 houses in summer but when it got so cold we moved them all in the camper coop, and they are warm in there, was in it yesterday to lay more pine chips, i would like to change the roosts, maybe this summer it will be a job.

Jealous!
How well does the grass keep? And why such a drastic hen to rooster ratio?

grass that is eat up, it looks like we run around the yard with a tiller to get grass out of fence, they spend hours working on keeping the fence weedless, and we had one roos that crewed so much, days it never stopped so he went, i told hubbie i don't want them any more love my hens, then we had one that would not let us in the yard, we would go into feed and he would come at us like a mad man, so he went. i went to action one day and got box of 13 peeps all turned out to be hens, then we hatched 15 and 9 where roosters, so you never know, i would like to get a rir roos but we will see what there is out there, also would like to get a delaware blue which is a nice looking chicken, i also like the americana but we have 1 and she has not laid in 3 mths. told my daughter we are going to eat her if she don't give us one soon, it is her chicken she got at the action.
