Silvadene if you can get it, NuStock if you can't find the Silvadene. Nustock will help them regrow the feathering quicker and help with wound healing, while keeping the flies and such off them.
So sorry TJ for your losses... You should have known better... It's been repeated over and over on here to never use heat lamps inside coops. Man, that just sucks. It took you what, three years for hubby to finally build that coop? (I don't have imojis or would put the one with me hiding under the chair here). Hope you don't have to wait another 3 for the replacement coop for the survivors/replacements.
Plain cool water for burns. I am soo sorry TJ. Talk to a vet about wound dressing. Cool water keeps the skin hydrated and stops further damage.

I've used the HP brooder setup outside in temps down to 20s-30s at night, so no worries about it being too cold out there to use it. It's easy to use, safe, cheap to set up and the chicks do very well under....more so than under a heat lamp.

For what its worth heat lamps are a serious fire hazard. They are unneccesary even in the coldest climates. protect them from direct draft so they can keep them selves warm while providing excellent ventilation to allow ammonia and moisture to be drawn out.
Many of us will attest to the durability of our flocks. I my self have always had ALL cage coops with Tarp roofs. Wind protection when appropriate but even down below freezing with snow landing in the coops My birds were hale and hearty.
Some of us are even moving away from Brooder lamps and going to either a heat plate or pad right in the coop. With appropriate GFI protection.

This would be a great time to put up a link to the heating pad brooder thread, don't you think, Deb? I've used heat lamps in my coops without any issues whatsoever, one just has to use them with good common sense, but for those just starting out and needing a way to brood in the coop, the heating pad brooder is a great way to do it but without the fear of fires.
